What is trawa?

The energy sector is undergoing a major transformation. Traditional utilities are outdated, inflexible, and struggle to meet the demands of the modern economy – even though they are indispensable for millions of businesses.

This is a market with enormous potential, but the existing solutions are complicated, inefficient, and in desperate need of overhaul.

trawa is changing that. We are building the green utility of the future from the ground up. Our platform provides direct access to renewable energy for B2B industrial companies, develops innovative software to manage the volatility of the energy market, and professionalizes energy procurement on the buyer's side.

As People Lead, you will build our HR team, develop modern, scalable processes, and together with us, create an environment that aligns with our mission: to provide companies with access to real green electricity – efficiently, professionally, and sustainably.

Your Tasks


  • Build the People team. You lay the foundation for our internal HR - building the team, defining roles, and creating the personnel structures that support our growth. 

  • Develop a people strategy. You develop a comprehensive people strategy that is closely aligned with our corporate goals.

  • Implement scalable HR processes. You establish efficient processes for onboarding, feedback, performance, and compensation – modern, transparent, and scalable.

  • Promote a performance culture. You design tools and formats for goal setting, development, and performance reviews, fostering a culture of clarity and accountability. 

  • Advise leaders and support teams. You assist our leads in team building, leadership issues, and conflict resolution – as a trusted sparring partner.

  • Manage employer branding and recruiting. You make trawa visible as an employer and are responsible for the entire recruiting process from strategy to hiring.

  • Data-driven work. You leverage HR data for informed decisions and continuous development.

Who we are looking for


  • You have 5+ years of professional experience in People & Culture, preferably in a fast-growing startup or scale-up environment – prior experience in consulting or similar industries is a plus.

  • You have already built or significantly contributed to an HR team and bring experience in collaborating with executives on equal terms.

  • You are familiar with modern HR tools and systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS, feedback tools) and know how to implement them at scale.

  • You approach topics like performance management, compensation, recruiting processes, or organizational design in a structured and data-driven manner.

  • You bring a strategic mindset without being afraid to roll up your sleeves and work operationally.

  • You see change as an opportunity and enjoy actively shaping culture.

  • You communicate clearly, empathetic, and on equal terms – with the team as well as with management.

  • You speak German and English fluently.
